Semester 2 blog 8

People may argue that Franklin Roosevelt and Barack Obama have common similarities about the bailout our nation. I think that they were similar leaders to our nation but, they had a few differences. They were both thrown onto the ropes in a time where out countries citizens were losing faith in the government.

They both came into the white house with new approaches on how the government should be acting. Roosevelt said that the state was "the machinery through which such mutual aid and protections is achieved. Our government is not the master but the creature of the people." Obama's speech was similar and shared the same views on how the government was supposed to be. During his inaugural speech, Obama said that "America has carried on not simply because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because We the People have remained faithful to the ideals of our forbearers, and true to our founding documents."

They both came in with a lot of new ideas, plenty of different programs, and bailout packages to help the people in their time of need. They were both strong willed upon entering the white house, bith ready to put new bills and laws into action. Roosevelt and Obama weren't afraid to tell congress how things were change and how they were serious about turning the depression around. Roosevelt had an easier time getting congress to agree with him, because he didnt have as large of a budget deficit to address unlike Obama.

People found that Roosevelt's radio broadcasts spook directly to them about how they shouldn't lose faith in their government. Obama did this in but in a different way, by broadcasting important summits, his most recent one was on health care. Most of the time now Obama is broadcasting actual discussions that has had with congress on the air. This still amazes people because they able to watch and listen to the discussions and see how our president actually is dealing with the crisis in America.

Muley:

"I got her! If ever a man got a does of the spirit, I got her! Got her all of a flash!"
"His movements were jerky and quick."
"I'll be aroun' till hell freezes over. There ain't nobody can run a guy name of graves outa this country. An' they ain't done it neither."
"I tell ya, men, I'm stayin'. They aint gettin' rid a me. If they through me off, ill come back....I ain't a-goin'. My pa come here fifty years ago. An' i ain't a-goin'."

These quotes show that Muely is a crazy red neck. Since he did not come into contact any with people due to the fact he was on the run from the cop, so this caused him to go a little insane in the membrane.

semester 2 internship photo essay

As I first started out at my internship I was given simple tasks such as filing, rearranging folders as they saw fit and physically taking apart computers. When my mentor first told me this I thought that I wasn’t going to get the full internship experience but I sucked it up and decided to just do the work and see if I would be getting anything harder in the future. At first I wasn’t the best at Dreamweaver but as time progressed I was given more and more tasks to work on. For example in the beginning it was mainly just rewording words but near the end I was linking and creating code for different parts of the websites. This only lasted for about a week then my mentor started giving me actual work to do. I felt like I was a bird and I was being released into the wild where I could learn how fly from the other birds.

Since I didn’t know that much about making websites on Dreamweaver they had me start on some basic web designing, which was at first just adding and taking things out. The little that they had taught me was more than I knew from school because there I thought that I knew the basics but it turns out that I was wrong. After learning that little bit from my mentor I wished I had known the material earlier when I was working on the Media Saves The Beach website. This didn’t bother me because at that time all I wanted to do was just get my work done then leave to go home. Sometimes it would be replacing words and other times it would be add pictures they even had me work with some code a few times. This became so easy that I found ways to do it faster for example, when I would be adding in photos or videos I would copy a picture of video already on the website and then just paste it next to it. Next I would go to the code and just make the corrections I needed so that it was what I wanted to have on it. Many people would call that lazy but I say it’s resourceful because I learned how to work around the system and do things in my own way.

One of the first website that I work on was called Global Oceanic and I had been asked to create the FAQ page. So I had to start by first putting the questions on the website I then had to create mini links for each and every questions. I felt that this was a really great way for me to learn some tricks for the future in case I ever need to do it again. However, this required me to look on the Internet and find how I was supposed to even attempt this. At first I was stuck but then I asked a fellow worker on how to do it and helped to guide me into the right direction. This experience also taught me to not be afraid to ask for help from the other employees. Now I don’t feel as shy or ashamed to ask for help if I’m stuck on a problem or lost because if I don’t then I will never get anywhere and remain stuck on that problem. I now know how important it is to raise your hand and ask for help.

The next website I worked on was for a company called DICA, for this website I was asked to add products to their product page. This was a bit easier because all I had to do was to add the product and to include its dimensions; the amount it weighted and I also had to give a picture of the product. This had taught me how to use a simpler style of making websites because for this website I had to fill in the blanks with each of the items requirements. This was a simple project but took a while because there at least 30-40 different products that I had to full into the blanks. I was finished with this project much faster than the other projects I was working on. This was mainly due to the fact that the site builder I had been using was very user friendly. This ment that it was very easy to use and can easily be taught to other people who may be struggling with web design. Luckily I was the only web design intern there other wise I might have had to have taught that person how to using the web page builder.

Now that I had become more comfortable with using Dreamweaver my mentor Adam decided to let me do some of the harder things that his client had been asking to do. So I started to work more on the harder things like adding tabs to the KEZA website, I would also be adding links to different website, linking videos on to the website that were viewable from right there. I was also given the task to create the gallery page, which showed of the different events that the KEZA Company had been doing. I found this to be a very easy thing to do because all I had to do was to put an image on page then I would link it another page that was full of the images I wanted in the gallery. The best part about working on the website was that every day after work I would show my mom the work I had done so as the days progressed she noticed the many changes to the website. This was a great way for me to show what I had learned from my time at my internship. In the end the website turned out to be the best website that I had ever done and many of my fellow students felt that this was very professional and looks very good.

Adam McWethy
Adam McWethy is a free thinker and always has been since his days in college. After getting out he work on Wall Street for a while until he broke his knee. He then decided to create a graphic design company with his brother Todd. 7 years later they have been working with several companies either designing their web page or even creating it for them. Adam could be described as a free man because he became his own boss. He is a calm man never raising his voice but if his is unhappy there is a big change in the tone of his voice. Adam is the kind of man you want as a boss he is cool and gives the off a very relaxing environment.

I want to know what else I should add?
What makes this a good piece?
What is something that I need to improve or make stronger?

Two links that i found were
Bono: Interview
Britney Spears: Interview

What makes a good interview i think is a mixture of different things, such as information that is relevant to the topic but that doesn't overwhelm the reader with to much to read. The finalized piece must also have some picture to grab the viewers attention so that they aren't bored reading. When writing an interview i think its good to start the interview by giving a little bit of about the person who is being interviewed then maybe add some of the interview questions and answer. What makes these really good is only if the reader is able to understand what the point of the interview was and if they are able to take something from the writing piece.
