semeste 2 honors blog 2

How/Why is/are World Wars 1 and/or 2 important today? How do they impact and/or inform our world today? hint: think about alliances, democracies around the world, cultures, international institutions, nuclear (and other) technologies, etc.

thanks to WW1 and WW2 they have allowed the US to become the strongest nation in the world. It has allowed us to advance our technology more so than would be possible if we hadn't had the wars. I also think that the world would be different if Great Britain had joined the Axis powers instead of the Allies. for example America would probably have been taken over since at that time they had not had the strongest military force compared to the other countries. I also think that if things had gone differently during that war that we might have launched more than just two nukes which could have changed the world drastically today. The wars were also important because they have helped us to build strong alliances with other countries. This is good for us because should we ever get into a war our allies will be there to help us out.

Semester 2 Blog 15

what interests me is the technology because i am so amazed how just spliting atoms can cause about a 13 mile radius of death and destruction. I want to know how America was able to discover how to make such a deadly weapon.

Semester 2 Blog 14

1. What are the most interesting aspects of World Wars 1 and 2?
world war 1: There was a book created during that time period it was called all quiet on the western front, its about the war and diseases that soldiers had while in these trenches fighting.

world war 2: My favorite part was when America decided to drop the A-bomb right on Hiroshima.

2. What do you hope to learn about these wars?
The leadership styles of each country at that time so i can know what was successful and what wasn't

3. How/Why are these wars important today? How do they impact and/or inform our world today? hint: think about alliances, democracies around the world, cultures, international institutions, nuclear (and other) technologies, etc.
I think that wars cause countries to band together to fight a common enemy and then when it is over they become allies and are there if they ever need help. Today we now know have much more advanced weapons that ever before.
